Frans Willigers (1951) is an independent designer. Curiosity drives him to create something new and useful from nothing. The importance of spaciousness in the work of the Amsterdam-based designer offers a glimpse into his professional history. After studying architecture, Willigers worked at various architectural firms. Since 1995, the designer has been teaching at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and has dedicated himself to furniture design.
Whether he is designing tables, chairs, cupboards, lighting or other home accessories, Willigers’ tranquil, sculptural work has a clear signature style, in which he always searches for the essence. Functional, elementary design with clear contours, a poetic touch and a timeless look.
